On Kate's latest book - "An Unfit Mother"
“I've lost half my weight after four months and feel myself”
Your book is an indispensable guide on how to get back in shape and feel good about yourself post pregnancy. I've taken up pilates and have found it so therapeutic and conditioning. You've made a book that's practical and fun and achievable. My mantra is eat a good breakfast and don't get on the scales unless unavoidable. I've lost half my weight after four months and feel myself.

“Kate's relaxed understanding manner meant making small changes to my diet wasn't at all an upheaval or felt anything like a diet!!”
"It was after a holiday in Italy that I decided to seek some nutritional help. I had put on weight gradually in the last two years and I wanted to do something about it, but more desperately I wanted to stop being so consumed by what I eat and mentally beat myself up for making the 'wrong' choices.
I can't put my finger on what Kate did but since our first session in May 2008 I was instantly more relaxed about food. The combination of taking the time out of my busy life to address something that was troubling me and Kate's relaxed understanding manner meant making small changes to my diet wasn't at all an upheaval or felt anything like a diet!!
The most important lesson I have learnt with Kate is to be conscious of the food choices I am making. I work in an office where chocolates and cakes are in abundance, but I have learnt to ask myself whether they will provide my body with anything and if I do really want them. An effect of this is that I no longer berate myself for eating the occasional carrot cake or chocolate fondant, because I have made the conscious decision to have it and enjoy it!
As Kate always reminded me, her advice is for life and although I can already see results (but will not be weighing myself!!) I know there will be times it may all fall apart, but if/when it does I know Kate is a call away.
Thanks Kate - it truly has been invaluable."

“…I don’t know how Kate did it; I only know I will always be grateful to her. And she is a great person too!"
"When I first met Kate I was someone who loved junk food and HATED anything healthy. I knew about the dangers of eating all those high fat, high sugar foods, I hated how my eating habits affected the way I looked and felt, but still I couldn’t stop eating them. That’s why I was pleasantly shocked after my first meeting with Kate. I felt as if my brain had been re-programmed and all those types of food I would have found boring and tasteless before (vegetables, simply cooked food and wheat free bread) started tasting amazing now. It sounds spooky, and it kind of was! When you are in your mid thirties, like me, the only thing you can hope for when you see a Nutritionist is to be able to stick to a strict diet routine for a relatively short period of time, while you’ll be lying through your teeth to them about how you’ll continue your strict regime for years to come. You are not prepared to start enjoying eating healthy food from one moment to the next, feeling absolutely great and looking even better after a few weeks and half a year later, not going back to your old habits! And that’s exactly what happened to me. I don’t know how Kate did it; I only know I will always be grateful to her. And she is a great person too!"
“As I began to eat more regularly, and more of the right foods I changed in myself. My energy level was up, and stayed up. I was more motivated and just felt good!”
“Being on the Dump the Diet course wasn't about losing weight!
When I first visited Kate I was very emotional and extremely confused by what I was reading and hearing day in, day out about weight loss.
Being a full time dance student my life is all about my image.
Reading about celebrities, being skinny or overweight with all sorts of disorders and all the latest diets was driving me crazy.
Who do I listen to? Which diet do I try? How skinny should I be?
So I decided I needed to speak to a professional, someone who wasn't in the industry. I began seeing Kate every other week to sit and talk about food, shopping, eating out, alcohol and me!
Kate helped me to see that there is no weight to aim for or an amount of pounds to want to lose. The main thing was to feel good and confident in myself and changing the things I ate wasn't for a few months or couple of weeks but for life. It was all about changing the way I think about these things!
At first it all seemed very hard and I knew I had alot ahead of me but with constant help it became easier by the week.
As I began to eat more regularly, and more of the right foods I changed in myself. My energy level was up, and stayed up. I was more motivated and just felt good! I don't know if I lost weight, because I didn't weigh myself. I wasn't interested. That's how we want more or give in to bad results but I feel good in what I wear and what I see, and believe me that really is all that matters.
So I would like to say a huge thank you to Kate. I've come a long way and learnt a lot. Thank you."

“I gradually began to realise that what Kate was doing was helping to free me from a lifetime of searching for THE diet that would make me thin and happy.”
"Kate helped me see to see that the last thing I needed was yet another "diet" or set of rigid rules to follow. We spent time discussing the reasons for my emotional/comfort eating and I gradually began to realise that what Kate was doing was helping to free me from a lifetime of searching for THE diet that would make me thin and happy. She helped me to see that it was all about the choices I was making and that there is no "bad" or "good", that I could eat a croissant for breakfast without feeling guilty and bingeing for the rest of the day because I'd been "bad". She helped me to realise that I was striving for absolute perfection in my diet, and when I couldn't achieve it, my sense of failure was triggering the binges.
Kate gradually helped me to achieve more balance in my eating behaviour. One of the achievements I made with Kate's help was to break a ten year habit of having a huge Indian takeaway on Friday night with my husband, which was often the trigger for a weekend of being excessively unhealthy. I would sometimes binge on crisps and chocolate on Friday afternoon because it was curry night, so I might as well make the most of it. Now my husband and I prepare a special meal on Friday night, something we might only have cooked before if we were having people over for dinner, but taking time to select the best ingredients and making it a real treat. After my final session with Kate, I felt that for the first time in many years I wasn't afraid of food and could relax about it for the first time in years."

“I feel really brilliant (and am losing weight already - hurrah!) so I am incredibly positive”
"Throughout my twenties I have felt continually unhappy with my weight but seemed unable to lose any pounds by dieting and believe me when I tell you that I tried them all! I stumbled upon The Nutrition Coach website when I was at my lowest and fed-up that for some reason I clearly couldn't quite manage my weight on my own - so I arranged to meet with Kate just four weeks ago.
I LOVED the rules Kate set out for me and have followed them successfully. I feel really brilliant (and am losing weight already - hurrah!) so I am incredibly positive. I think my boyfriend is relieved that I am finally able to stop obsessing about what foods I could and shouldn't eat and I can sit down and enjoy every meal (including breakfast...!) All of my friends and family are commenting on how well I look and with Kate's support I am quite sure I can continue losing weight and feeling better FOR THE LONG RUN rather than just a few hunger-filled days. I feel like this is it... I can finally do it!"

“The guidance I received has changed my life and I will be forever grateful - I'm a happy person again!"
"I was three stone overweight, unhappy with a very low self image. I needed help; I needed educating on how I was abusing my body and mind. I got that help with The Nutrition Coach. Through her experience I now know what food suits me and my lifestyle and how what I digest affects my overall wellbeing. The guidance I received has changed my life and I will be forever grateful - I'm a happy person again!"

“…I no longer suffer from the excruciating stomach pains that my IBS gave me. I have since lost 1 1/2 stone in weight and feel so much better.”
“I was recommended Kate by a friend at work who was aware of how severely I suffered with IBS and this had been the case for about seven years. I had tried numerous tablets to help with the conditions but nothing seemed to work.
I began seeing Kate in November of 2007. We agreed on an approach for my diet which would be supplemented by herbal tablets. There were simple things to change in my diet such as always ensuring I had breakfast before I left for work and harder things such as avoiding white bread and rice. Once I got into a pattern of eating and buying certain foods, I haven't looked back, I no longer suffer from the excruciating stomach pains that my IBS gave me. I have since lost 1 1/2 stone in weight and feel so much better.
Kate advised me from the start that this is a lifestyle change and now that I have been eating differently for the last ten months I am more than happy with my new lifestyle.
I cannot recommend enough how working with Kate has helped to eradicate my IBS and improve my diet and confidence.
Thank you Kate!!”
“For me, though, I think the biggest thing was feeling that I was getting back in control and doing something positive after eight months of giving my body over, unquestioningly, to medical science.”
"After my operation for breast cancer in November 2005, I asked my surgeon whether I should change my diet - like many people I was aware of the 'no dairy, more soya' view. His response was that there was insufficient proof that any special diet worked to make it worthwhile trying to stick to something you didn't enjoy, so the general advice was lots of fruit and veg, sensible diet all round and keep the weight down (or in my case get some off!).
During the chemo and radiotherapy any thoughts of diet went by the wayside. Although I didn't suffer from nausea, my desire to eat changed daily both in terms of whether and what. As a result I had healthy eating days and bad eating days with odd cravings and then going completely 'off' things for no apparent reason. Some of the foods I lived on during that period I now can't stand the sight of! A combination of erratic eating, no exercise because I was too tired and the steroids and other drugs meant I ended treatment two stone heavier than when my surgeon suggested keeping the weight down!
I was very surprised at this stage to still only be given the same general advice on diet. I found this hard to believe as I knew my liver had been badly abused by all the chemotherapy drugs and was still working overtime. It seemed sensible to me that I should do something to help it recover and also to ensure my immune system recovered at the same time.
There was so much information on the internet that I decided I was far safer to find an expert to help. I picked Kate Cook fairly randomly from the internet having read the CVs of a few nutritional therapists and decided I liked the sound of her and she was based conveniently for me in Harley Street. You can tell from the level of my research that I'm no scientist!
I've been with Kate for some eighteen months and am now at the stage of reducing the number of pills and powders I'm taking to a basic maintenance level having gone through periods of rattling with large numbers of tablets and struggling to down some of the most disgusting powders ever. But has it all been worth it?
There is no doubt I feel hugely better and am almost back to my old self but it is impossible to know whether that's down to any of the supplements I've taken or whether I would be this good by now anyway. Comparing myself to friends who have been through the same treatment and not gone down this route though, I do feel I'm ahead of them in my recovery. I have also only had one head cold that lasted a week and a short dose of shingles in the eighteen months since I've been with Kate which shows my immune system is doing quite well.
For me, though, I think the biggest thing was feeling that I was getting back in control and doing something positive after eight months of giving my body over, unquestioningly, to medical science. So the psychological boost has probably been as, if not more, significant than anything provided by the supplements.
Finally, Kate's life coach approach re de-stressing the day, getting the work/life balance right and detoxifying the work and home environments has also helped me think about what contributed to me falling ill in the first place and what I can do to protect myself going forward. And never underestimate the value of having someone you can talk to about how you're feeling - as great as family and friends are, once you're past all the treatment and beginning to look well you don't feel like you want to burden them with your troubles any more.
Would I do it again (the nutritional therapy, that is!)? Yes, but in the nicest possible way I hope I never have to!!"

“After six months the results have been fantastic, I now feel fit and healthy again.”
"I went to see Kate suspecting that I had a hormone imbalance and possibly PCOS and feeling totally frustrated by the lack of diagnosis and treatment provided by my G.P. Refreshingly, Kate's proactive approach was the complete opposite. Several diagnostic tests confirmed my suspicions and Kate explored all aspects of my lifestyle and suggested changes to my diet, supplements, acupuncture, herbal medicine and exercise to treat my symptoms. All of Kate's advice was logical, easy to implement and most importantly dealt with the root cause of my ill health.
After six months the results have been fantastic, I now feel fit and healthy again. Kate has been hugely positive and supportive throughout and I would recommend The Nutrition Coach to anyone, particularly those who feel that the 'traditional' medical system is failing them, in fact I already have!
Kate, thank you!"

“It seems too simple to be true but since avoiding certain foods that you suggested and taking the supplements that you advised my arthritis has receeded.”
I wanted to thank you for your guidance.
It seems too simple to be true but since avoiding certain foods that you suggested and taking the supplements that you advised my arthritis has receeded, I am walking normally again and I cancelled my appointment with the 'knee man'.
I think at least three people that I know will be contacting you.
Its been a pleasure to meet you and I'll see you in Jan."
“Your wonderful down-to-earth approach to explaining and encouraging me to eat healthily, and adopt a different attitude to food fitness and health, is so compelling that I felt honour-bound to at least try it – and the plain simple truth is it works.”
It‘s said that the proof of the pudding is in the eating – and in my case it’s absolutely true.
From being a cuddly child, thanks mainly to my well-meaning parents who insisted I eat everything on my over-filled plate, I have been on diets most of my life. Also, due to my hectic life-style stress was taking its toll. Now at long last thanks to the advice in your excellent book ‘Whole health: Inspirational ideas for mind and body well-being’, and in particular to the personal coaching sessions, I am no longer dieting, or stressed – and I feel great.
Why the change? Your wonderful down-to-earth approach to explaining and encouraging me to eat healthily, and adopt a different attitude to food fitness and health, is so compelling that I felt honour-bound to at least try it – and the plain-simple truth is it works. There are no reprimands for the odd lapse but an understanding that we are all human – it happens. As a result of your excellent advice and support I now find that I am less likely to stray from the path of healthy eating; because I’ve discovered that I truly enjoy it, and the benefits it brings.
I have always felt that being over-weight, stressed, and less fit than was good for me, was a mental mind-set that I just had to live with. You showed me it didn’t have to be that way ever again.
Kate - my sincere thanks.
Ain’t Life Fantastic!"
“Through Kim's down to earth and friendly approach I quickly developed trust in her advice. Her continued support has also been really helpful - I highly recommend her!"
"I went to see Kim after suffering from skin problems for ten years. I was also prone to depression and lethargy. I had tried many different things to alleviate the skin problems: herbs, homeopathy, the pill, vitamin A. The doctor had just prescribed me antibiotics but I felt reluctant to try these. Kim recommended a shift in my dietary habits and some vitamin supplements. I had been vegetarian for 10 years and my symptoms may have been a sign that I was not getting enough of certain nutrients.
Within a month or so I began to notice less angry outbreaks on my skin. My hormones seemed to be balancing themselves with the assistance of the supplements that Kim had recommended. I was pleased to go back to the doctor with my improved condition which didn't depend on antibiotics or artificial chemicals. I am now able to regulate my blood sugar levels better through balanced meals ensuring more protein, I am more attuned to natural fluxes in my energy levels and my depression is much more manageable. Through Kim's down to earth and friendly approach I quickly developed trust in her advice. Her continued support has also been really helpful - I highly recommend her!"
“Seeing Kate has provided an enormous sense of relief as she has explained how all the issues I was experiencing were all tied up together and were, more importantly, relatively easy to overcome with a little willpower!”
"I came to see Kate about a year ago, as I was experiencing severe bloating and cramps - which never appeared to be triggered by anything in particular - as well as occasional acne outbreaks on my face, a condition that I had never previously encountered. After a couple of consultations, where I was told to try a wheat and dairy-free diet, Kate suggested I have a digestive analysis test. When the results came back, it turned out I had a rare form of candida yeast in my stomach, which would explain not only my digestive discomfort, but also my skin problems and difficulty in losing weight. Kate immediately recommended a course of supplements, including probiotics to rebuild the good bacteria in my stomach, from which I saw immediate benefits.
Due to work commitments, I was unable to see Kate for a few months after my last visit, which made it difficult to keep up with my programme. Once I returned to her, however, I got back on form, taking the supplements and observing my dietary programme. Thanks to Kate, even if I have a 'bad day', I now know exactly what to do for damage limitation and how to keep my digestive issues at bay. Seeing Kate has provided an enormous sense of relief as she has explained how all the issues I was experiencing were all tied up together and were, more importantly, relatively easy to overcome with a little willpower! It never fails to amaze me just how much a seemingly small problem can affect so many different areas, and that once the 'small' issue has been addressed, everything else falls in to place. For making me appreciate this, I am very thankful to the Nutrition Coach."

“The advice Kim has given me has proved invaluable - I’ve definitely seen an improvement in my racing and training times...”
“I have come to realise how important good nutrition is to enhance sports performance. The advice Kim has given me has proved invaluable - I’ve definitely seen an improvement in my racing and training times, I have less injuries and my recovery time is much better. Anyone who is serious about sport and competing should certainly consider sports nutrition to improve their performance.”

“Kim supplied me with a well laid-out plan and a wealth of information to ensure I had all the information I needed to follow the plan.”
"Within six weeks of starting the nutrition plan and supplements, which Kim advised, I began to notice an improvement in my general well-being as well as increased energy levels. My skin has noticeably improved, my PMS symptoms such as water-retention are much less severe, and I have lost weight.
Kim's consultations have been very thorough and professional, covering every aspect of lifestyle, diet and health history. Kim supplied me with a well laid-out plan and a wealth of information to ensure I had all the information I needed to follow the plan. She also drew up meal suggestions based on her recommendations and my likes and dislikes, which took into account lifestyle issues such as lack of time to cook lengthy meals and social occasions. Her follow up sessions were very useful and helpful, she ensured motivation was kept high and gave me new incentives and goals to keep improving. I highly recommend Kim as a nutritional therapist."
“I began to have a lot more energy and the panic attacks became less frequent.”
"Before I started seeing Kim, I was suffering from tiredness and panic attacks. Within about six to eight weeks of following Kim's advice, I began to have a lot more energy and the panic attacks became less frequent. Kim has been very supportive and understanding throughout and has provided realistic diet and lifestyle advice that has been easy for me to maintain. My husband and I were also trying for a baby at the time, and after a few months of following the nutrition programme I became pregnant and we now have a very healthy baby girl. Kim also advised my husband on diet and supplements while we were trying to conceive, and provided me with information on how to remain healthy throughout my pregnancy and following the birth."
“My energy levels soared and the PMS became much more bearable. After a while my mood swings became a thing of the past and I honestly can't remember the last time I had a headache.”
"I used to suffer from regular headaches, severe PMS and my blood sugar levels were out of control causing terrible mood swings. But once I started working with Kim I noticed an almost immediate improvement in my health. My energy levels soared and the PMS became much more bearable. After a while my mood swings became a thing of the past and I honestly can't remember the last time I had a headache. As an additional bonus my diet is now much more varied than before thanks to Kim's great menu suggestions. Kim's friendly approach and highly personalised and practical advice made the plan easy to follow and adapt to my everyday life. I can't thank Kim enough for her help and support."
“Kate was a great help in identifying the problem and helping me to manage it, working around two pregnancies as well.”
"I started seeing Kate Cook in 2004, suffering from digestive disturbances, stomach cramps and general discomfort after eating. Through testing, she was able to diagnose a gut parasite, blastocystis hominis, along with bacterial imbalances which were causing the symptoms. As I was on the verge of taking herbal treatments to treat the parasite, I discovered that I was pregnant with my first child, and was unable to take the tablets prescribed. A year later my father died, and I was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disorder and hypothyroid, which Kate (I believe rightly) thought to be caused by stress. She prescribed me supplements to boost my adrenal system, and my thyroid disorder has been normal for over one year now. I took supplements to rid the parasite and correct the bacterial imbalances in my gut during 2005 (once I had stopped breastfeeding my daughter).
I was feeling a lot better, and on the verge of taking a course of antibiotics in the hope of 'finishing the parasite off', when I became pregnant again and all bets were off! My son was born last October, and I recently took the antibiotic course to finish the attack on the parasite. I now feel almost completely well. I suffer only very occasionally with digestive disturbances, and these can usually be controlled through diet (less sugar). I have now reached a stage where I do not want to test for parasites again - I may or may not have them, but am happy that I have done all I can to rid them, and want to think positively about having a healthy intestinal system again. Kate was a great help in identifying the problem and helping me to manage it, working around two pregnancies as well. I am really grateful to her for helping me to overcome something which was a big and nasty part of my life, making it manageable and allowing me to get on with the important job of raising my two children!"

“The first hour I spent with Sanna analysing my diet and requirements was amazingly useful. Everything she said just made so much sense.”
"I started seeing Sanna from The Nutrition Coach to see how I could use my diet to overcome the mid-afternoon exhaustion I was often experiencing. Prior to seeing her I was suffering from severe lack of energy, mood swings and uncontrollable needs for coffee and chocolate particularly around 3/4pm on week days.
The first hour I spent with Sanna analysing my diet and requirements was amazingly useful. Everything she said just made so much sense. Finally I understood the impact you can have on your body by eating sensibly. Once aware of the types of food I should be focusing on and, critically, how easy it is to incorporate them into my diet, my new eating habits have made an enormous impact on my health and energy levels. I feel more productive at work - particularly in the afternoons, am exercising as much as possible and enjoying it, and feel far more in control of my emotions.
Having worked in the City, Sanna's suggestions are practical and easy to implement. She knows what is available and is realistic about what can be brought in from home so I am never stuck for options of healthy lunches. The support Sanna provides via handouts, recipes, follow up sessions and emails is very thorough and enormously helpful."

“I've just worked out that I have lost 3 stone overall and feel great."
Diet and exercise is going really well. I managed 20 miles on Sunday and 20 lengths of the pool this morning. Less than 2 weeks to go until the Moonwalk - don't know whether to feel terrified or excited.
I wish that I had taken a photo when I first came to see you - I've just worked out that I have lost 3 stone overall and feel great.

“What's amazing is that I never go hungry with her plans. Only after a month of following her suggestions, I already feel and see the benefits, for example, I sleep better, my skin is much smoother and I feel lighter!”
"For years I have been suffering from polycystic ovaries syndrome and have struggled with my weight. I have tried so many low-fat and detox diets but none of them really worked due to the lack of motivation and I was totally depressed.
Recently I discovered that I also suffer from high blood pressure and high cholesterol. That really shocked me and I got even more depressed.
My family in Japan are quite healthy. I felt as if my life was ending and was so ashamed of myself.
One day a friend of mine told me about Nutritional Therapy. Her skin looked radiant and she lost some weight as well. I decided to give it a try and found Kate, my nutrition coach, on the internet.
Before the first session, I was worried Kate would just weigh me, tell me what to eat and ask me to keep strict food diary for her to check but it wasn't like that at all.
Her advice is so simple and practical that I manage to keep to it easily. What's amazing is that I never go hungry with her plans. Only after a month of following her suggestions, I already feel and see the benefits, for example, I sleep better, my skin is much smoother and I feel lighter!
Kate has given me not only nutritional education but also fantastic emotional support. Every time I see her, I feel encouraged and finally I began to believe in myself that I can achieve my goals.
Thank you Kate!"
“In short, this experience/change in diet has only been beneficial to me. I've also found I'm a great cook!"
"I cannot recommend The Nutrition Coach enough..... the advice I got was the best I'd had since I started this journey of improving my health through diet.
I'd read a few books in the past and had tried to achieve a sense of optimal health, DIY style, but as is always the case, I'd neither had the motivation or all the necessary information/facts to hand. In particular, I believed that by changing my diet, specifically to a low-wheat and low-dairy diet, I wouldn't find any tasty and healthy alternatives to the food I liked. The preconceptions were very soon eliminated after having received a list of food companies, from Nutrition Coach Kate, that specialise in providing healthy and tasty variations on the usual mass produced and over-refined foods we so love and hate. I also found that my local supermarkets stock some of the main foods I wanted to purchase: Wheat Free Bread by The Stamp Collection, Oatly Oat Milk and Rice Dream. I also found that a handy hand blender is an essential kitchen tool required for making healthy and tasty smoothies and home-made soups! In short, this experience/change in diet has only been beneficial to me. I've also found I'm a great cook!"
“The 80/20 rule is my favourite because nothing works perfectly 100 percent of the time.”
"Not having cravings for sweet foods is liberating. I was the kind of person who could not walk past a patisserie without feeling my mouth watering. Of course, the benefits of the change in my diet are many more, such as, more energy, weight loss, great skin and shiny, glossy hair! The results are amazing but they don't come overnight, you need to sustain the changes for at least three months, in my experience, before seeing the effects. However, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.
Having Kate as coach, helped me because she gave me guidelines that are easy to follow and that can adapt to the way I live and the things I like. Having a nutrition coach helped me also in terms of having accountability to someone, as well as being able to ask questions and receive replies by email, so I never felt disconnected from my objectives.
The 80/20 rule is my favourite because nothing works perfectly 100 percent of the time. You are bound to lapse and forget and want that chocolate cake, which is absolutely fine as long it does not happen often. The whole nutrition thing for me is a learning process about what works and what doesn't work for me, and fine tuning it so it becomes second nature."

“I soon noticed a radical change of my body - my energy level has gone up, I have better skin, I sleep better, I am no longer feeling bloated and I have dropped a dress size!”
"Growing up in a Chinese community where everyone is so tiny had always made me felt like the fat and the ugly one. My mum is a size six and so is my sister! Even my dad is lighter than me! Having gained a few kilos in university, I went home for my first holiday and saw the horror on their faces when I arrived at the airport - they couldn't even recognise me! This was then followed by constant laughing and joking by every family member.
Feeling very hurt, very unattractive and VERY angry with myself throughout the holiday I returned to university and determined to get some professional help. My first session with Kate was absolutely awesome, for the first time I was told that I do not need to lose any weight at all! All I needed was to eat well and be healthy! She opened up a whole new world of healthy eating to me and has also helped me to understand that there are so much more than just losing weight!
The rules Kate set up for me are all very practical and fit into my everyday lives easily. I have also learned not to beat myself up for messing up the rules and try to relax. I soon noticed a radical change of my body - my energy level has gone up, I have better skin, I sleep better, I am no longer feeling bloated and I have dropped a dress size! Most importantly I feel so much better about myself! What an incredible feeling! I was even rewarded a little book of optimum nutrition for doing so well which was really encouraging! Looking radiant as ever I couldn't wait to show everyone back home how good I looked - yes as I predicted everyone was gobsmacked and I was no longer a 'most talked-about celebrity' in the family and my mum actually stopped nagging for once! Hurray!
I have gained an incredible knowledge about optimum nutrition from Kate and now I'm very happy with my body and continue eating healthily. Thanks to Kate for being so patient and so supportive. Thank you so much Kate! Couldn't have done it without you! Thank you! "

“I now rarely suffer from colds and, when they do occur, they are milder and more brief.”
"For years I have caught frequent colds and flu and found them hard to shake off. After sessions with Kate, I gradually improved my diet and was recommended supplements which I took daily. I now rarely suffer from colds and, when they do occur, they are milder and more brief. Kate's advice about diet has doubtless improved my eating habits and general health - thank you! "
“…it's been very simple to follow, with easy, slight changes at every step and no immediate life-altering madness.”
"Having tried the things you suggested, I finally feel as if I'm in control of my eating, rather than the other way around. I rarely feel hungry, and when I do it's generally a bit peckish at reasonable times rather than ravenous 30 minutes after eating. My energy levels are at a rough constant, I have no more post-lunch dips, and losing my coffee mania has been great: I sleep better, which means I need less caffeine the following day, and I don't get depression any more. Thanks for all your help in this: it's been very simple to follow, with easy, slight changes at every step and no immediate life-altering madness. So it's true: slow and steady does win the race!"

“I knew that there wouldn't be a quick fix for my problems but I have been surprised at how soon I have noticed a big difference in my digestion and I also feel better in myself generally.”
"I visited Kate after deciding that I could no longer tolerate the abdominal bloating, pains and constipation that I had suffered for about five years. Kate's advice was very practical and she reassured me that I don't have to live with my symptoms. Kate suggested some supplements to boost my digestive system and to cut out wheat and dairy from my diet. Initially, I was concerned about the dietary changes because I imagined that I would end up cooking special meals and I did not like the idea about cutting out food groups completely. Kate explained that I will not need to change my diet forever and, two months on, I have been surprised at how easy it has been to adapt my "usual" diet. I haven't had to buy lots of special ingredients or change my meals significantly. The dietary changes, combined with the supplements and small changes to me lifestyle (basically, just trying to look after myself better and find time for relaxation), have really helped my symptoms. I knew that there wouldn't be a quick fix for my problems but I have been surprised at how soon I have noticed a big difference in my digestion and I also feel better in myself generally."

“I cannot begin to tell you what a joy it is to feel confident and attractive again. It really wasn't difficult at all - it is just a question of changing one's eating and drinking habits and sticking to it.”
"I decided I needed nutritional therapy after having steadily put on weight for two or three years despite having gone on nearly every known diet and eating less and less I just seemed to be getting fatter and fatter. None of my clothes fitted any more,in fact I had gone up at least two dress sizes and could only buy really dreary dowdy clothes.I felt unattractive and rather uncomfortable. and couldn't understand why this was happening as I went to the gym three times a week, pilates once a week and walked the dogs for miles and was generally very fit.I could have put it down to middle age spread but was determined that I wasn't going to be this size for ever. Hence my going for nutritional therapy.
Nutritional therapy really has helped me enormously. Kate was great with me as I was very grumpy when we first met, unhappy with my body and rather depressed. I have found by following Kates ideas of what I should eat I am never hungry and in fact end up eating more than I was before but healthy things rather than unhealthy. I now eat masses of fruit and vegetables and know which ones to go for and find them absolutely delicious.
I found that the improvement didn't happen overnight but I stuck to the programme and now having been with Kate for one year I feel fantastic and have lost all the weight I put on and I suspect even more.I know this is going to sound corny but I can get into all my old clothes, thank god I hadn't thrown them all away, and can go shopping again and buy fun, sexy clothes and hopefully look good again.I cannot begin to tell you what a joy it is to feel confident and attractive again. It really wasn't difficult at all - it is just a question of changing one's eating and drinking habits and sticking to it. I found it a huge help to have Kate to talk to and advise me. I never felt pressurised but gently encouraged. It is so great to go out with my lovely husband and to have compliments from people telling me I am looking good. I am afraid I am as vain as most girls!!! To whom it may concern, don't give up, stick to the advice you are given, it really works."

“I highly recommend Kate and can only thank her for putting me back on the path to great health"
"Working with Kate I came to understand and conquer blood sugar imbalance. As a personal trainer I took a lot of exercise, which finally led me to craving sweet foods just to keep going. I began to feel very ill and went to see Kate. I learnt how to master maintaining my blood sugar levels rather than let them sink so low that the sweet cravings would start and the rollercoaster begin again. If I am naughty now it is out of choice rather than desperation! I highly recommend Kate and can only thank her for putting me back on the path to great health"

“As well as losing weight, I also found myself more able to tackle my other life challenges.”
"I first went to see Kate because I wanted to lose weight. Through her excellent coaching she helped me to understand that nutrition is about much more than just weight loss. Gradually with her help I started reclaiming my life and my health. As well as losing weight, I also found myself more able to tackle my other life challenges and I was also able to bring these to Kate for her help and advice. Over the past two years I have relied on Kate's common sense approach and her gentle but firm reminders to keep me on track, and would not have got so much accomplished were it not for her help and support. Thank you Kate!"
“I am more educated about my food choices and for the first time I am not dreading my check up with the doctor, and to top it off, I have gone down two holes on my belt.”
"After years of watching my blood pressure and cholesterol rise I decided to look for alternatives to my medication. I'd read an article in an in-flight magazine about the benefits of eating nuts and this made me think about the food I was eating. My job is demanding and includes frequent trips abroad, which sometimes means I am limited with food choices, so I thought I'd do it properly with the help of professionals. I've had five appointments with The Nutrition Coach now and am delighted to say that she didn't tell me to live on lettuce leaves and herb teas. She lets me know which foods I should and shouldn't eat and why, then I incorporate her ideas when I am travelling.
The Nutrition Coach recommended a test to monitor my stress levels which showed that my body wasn't handling it very well and this was impacting on my cholesterol.
Some of the changes haven't been easy, but I take my vitamins with me whenever I travel, I am more educated about my food choices and for the first time I am not dreading my check up with the doctor, and to top it off, I have gone down two holes on my belt. Thank you, I only wish I had done this sooner."

“As a last resort I decided to try The Nutrition Coach and I believe it is one of the best decisions I have made in my life.”
"During the last five years I have suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in the form of digestive problems and excess stomach acid. My condition made me lose concentration at work and feel exhausted. In short, it affected my social and work life.
After numerous visits to my GP and hospital specialist, I lost hope of feeling better one day. As a last resort I decided to try The Nutrition Coach and I believe it is one of the best decisions I have made in my life. They recommended me some tests and supplements. Now I feel much better and I have regained my confidence in my work and social life".

“She has educated me to the extent that I am now far brighter, have more energy and am generally healthier as a result.”
"I heard about The Nutrition Coach through a friend of mine who she had helped. For years my issue had been that I suffered from a total lack of energy and enthusiasm and was constantly tired. After numerous so-called specialists tried to help and failed, I was resigned to the fact that this was just the way I was.
The Nutrition Coach's approach was totally refreshing and we slowly chipped away at my poor eating habits. She has educated me to the extent that I am now far brighter, have more energy and am generally healthier as a result. What started out as a shock to the system, is now, I am pleased to say a way of life. I am sure The Nutrition Coach will be pleased to know that I am now, at last, walking her talk. Thanks."

“Kate has not only helped me to heal a physical condition, but she has been an exceptional life coach. She helped me bring balance in my life on many levels."
"I went to see Kate as I had been having digestion problems for a few years. The last year was particularly bad, with symptoms such as diarrhoea, constipation and bloating that were all inexplicable. It was also a period of emotional stress. During my first consultation Kate recommended a few tests and also suggested that I cut out wheat and dairy until the results came through. The tests showed that I had a parasite and this was preventing my body from properly digesting certain foods. I followed the diet and an extensive supplement programme. The nutrition part was tough in the beginning, but I kept going because I felt so much better. Now I don't even think about if I have been following Kate's advice for the last nine months. Kate has not only helped me to heal a physical condition, but she has been an exceptional life coach. She helped me bring balance in my life on many levels"
“Instead of telling me exactly what I could and couldn't eat we discussed the sort of foods I like to eat and considered healthier options I felt I would still enjoy, so the changes would be realistic.”
"The Nutrition Coach made me think of my diet - not as a temporary measure or a fad but as a way of life. To begin with I kept a food diary and we looked at it together and worked out ways in which I could make improvements. Instead of telling me exactly what I could and couldn't eat we discussed the sort of foods I like to eat and considered healthier options I felt I would still enjoy, so the changes would be realistic. The Nutrition Coach helped me with my shopping list and ways I could make changes which weren't too painful. This has now helped me to make healthier choices every day and incorporate them permanently. I have had more energy and learned that by eating regularly and healthily my cravings for the wrong food choices are less."

“I firmly believe that my patience has been rewarded with hopefully longer lasting health and I know I could not have done it without the excellent advice and support along the way."
"I had been working in Afghanistan in May 2003 and returned to the UK a month later feeling unwell (diarrhoea and general malaise). After numerous visits to my GP I was diagnosed as having a parasite.
After a course of anti-biotics I was given the all clear, however I was still feeling unwell; very lethargic, pains in my stomach and breastbone and this prompted me to seek the help of a nutritionist. On my first visit I was advised to avoid wheat and dairy and to take a comprehensive parasitology test. I followed the dietary recommendations, but was still feeling only about one out of ten. My test results revealed I had another parasite, which I was relieved about as there had to be an underlying problem.
After a three month course of supplements to rebalance my levels of gut bacteria I was feeling up to a four out of ten. Further tests for my adrenal glands revealed that they were "on the floor", hence my total lack of energy. The programme to support this had an almost overnight effect and I can honestly say I nearly feel ten out of ten. I was committed to the programme even though it was slow progress, but my knowledge of nutrition increased immensely.
I firmly believe that my patience has been rewarded with hopefully longer lasting health and I know I could not have done it without the excellent advice and support along the way."
On Life Coaching
“…Kate has helped me identify what my personal goals and business goals are and what my target market should be. This has meant that my efforts in setting up my business have been very focused on particular areas.”
“Kate has been coaching me now for a number of months on setting up my own business. When I first saw Kate my plan was to try to attract a very broad range of customers which would have meant a lot of hard work but no guarantee of success. However by using a series of different coaching techniques Kate has helped me identify what my personal goals and business goals are and what my target market should be. This has meant that my efforts in setting up my business have been very focused on particular areas. Kate has also passed on her experience to help me identify the tasks that need to be done to set up my new business and ensure it is as successful as possible in the future.”
“The life coaching with Kate has been brilliant and for the first time ever I feel like I have a plan and know where I am heading.”
“I came across Kate while surfing the web on the 1st January, feeling fat and frumpy after the excesses of Christmas looking for weight loss inspiration.
When I discovered that she was a life coach as well as a nutritionist, I quickly decided that developing a career plan was probably a bit more important than losing a few pounds. So after one quick phone call with Kate enquiring about weight loss programmes I had, on impulse, signed up for 12 sessions of life coaching. It is definitely the best decision I have made in a long time and proved to be an excellent way to start the year.
I have been working for a very large organisation for about 13 years and have fallen into very specialised role without really planning it. Although the salary and benefits are quite good and the job comfortable I have been very uninspired for a long time - a fur lined rut as Kate called it. With restructuring and redundancy on the horizon, I was finding it hard to identify what I wanted to do next. The life coaching with Kate has been brilliant and for the first time ever I feel like I have a plan and know where I am heading. The coaching process drew out my values and identified what I enjoy and want from my work and life. I haven't come out with a complete change in direction but that is because it isn't appropriate for me rather than any limitations of the coaching - anything was possible and we considered all the options. I have decided to work towards a couple of professional qualifications and managed to obtain the support of my line manager to do them. I also have plans to possibly do a masters degree next year.
I can honestly say that if I hadn't done the life coaching this year at work would have been very difficult with redundancy likely and no real plans. Instead I feel like I have real focus, have taken control of the situation and will be able to make the most of any opportunities the restructuring at work may bring.
On top of getting results, Kate is genuine, warm and caring and really interested in the progress you make.”
“Now I am so excited about the next step in my life and am not dreading or confused about what decisions to make. There is so much light at the end of the tunnel now and I just can’t wait to get there.”
“When I look back at my time that I spent with Kate I am amazed and surprised at how much we have achieved. I first walked in that door, sceptical, unmotivated, struggling to understand not only what life was about but what I was about. No wonder I was finding life hard, confusing and no idea what to do. In the past six months that I have been seeing Kate, I have found out more about myself then I ever thought possible. Kate helped me deal with decisions about my career, personal life and health. I really enjoyed our sessions and looked forward to them. You do have to spend time outside your sessions doing homework but it is like anything, the more you put in the more you will get out of it plus they are quite fun! Now I am so excited about the next step in my life and am not dreading or confused about what decisions to make. There is so much light at the end of the tunnel now and I just can’t wait to get there.”

“I've really changed my outlook on life and can see possibilities everywhere. It is thanks to you as you pushed my ignition button...”
“I'm now fully qualified as health and performance coach. I've been practising in a sports centre for the past 4 months. However I'm planning on setting up my own company as I'm ready for it. I've really changed my outlook on life and can see possibilities everywhere. It is thanks to you as you pushed my ignition button in 2004 (so long ago!).”

“My well being, my state of mind at home and the health of my finances have improved dramatically."
"I first went to Kate as a nutritionist; I really liked her energy and pragmatic approach and saw excellent results from her suggestions on food, so when I heard that she did life coaching I decided to give it a go. Although my life was good in many ways, I had a sense that certain areas and patterns were holding me back from having a great life. Kate helped me to identify these and to work on them by reframing my attitudes and beliefs and taking appropriate action. I have created a routine that supports me to get things done and look after myself—and unlike what I've tried in the past I actually stick to it. My well being, my state of mind at home and the health of my finances have improved dramatically."

“At each stage Kate’s approach made it exciting and easy to achieve making it a great experience rather than a chore.”
"On reaching the ripe old age of 30 I realised that it was time for me to understand myself and my body better….and my journey began with Kate as my guide. Kate took the time and patience to work with me, tailoring a programme to suit my personal needs. The step by step plan helped me to make small changes giving my body and mind a chance to acclimatize. At each stage Kate’s approach made it exciting and easy to achieve making it a great experience rather than a chore. Kate’s energy for life and practical approach gave me the space in which to explore new ideas and as she says…go well. Well, I feel incredibly positive about food and am enjoying myself much more because of Kate’s coaching and inspiration......thank you Kate."
