Clare and Simon had been together for a number of years. With the combination of two full careers and several house moves they had decided to put the idea of having a baby on hold. Clare had a condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and the doctors were doubtful about her chances of conceiving, in fact she had decided to give the nutrition programme a go for six months and then she would opt for IVF treatment. She was 39 and felt she was "getting on a bit". Simon was extremely supportive and was very committed to his part; giving up cigarettes and even his pints with the boys on Friday night. Clare became very organised, taking her supplements and ensuring there was always a ready supply of fresh food in and very soon new eating habits took hold. Just before their appointment at the IVF clinic, Clare found out she was pregnant; Ben was born with a full head of wonderful hair and now, three years later is a happy, active little boy.

Sally couldn't persuade her partner Joe to come along and see us but she gently introduced new eating habits to him anyway. Despite various examinations by the doctor, she was told there was nothing wrong. Long periods of stress, including the death of a close uncle had sent Sally's stress levels spinning. We suggested a test to assess her hormone levels, this showed an imbalance.
Sally was very keen to try other alternative health disciplines, so with The Nutrition Coach acting as coordinator we sent her to Stella Berg our resident Homeopath, and a well respected Chinese doctor. Sally was prescribed herbs and acupuncture. It's early days but she feels much more in control of her health, and very positive about the future. We will re-test her hormones in a few months so we can monitor how the strategy is working.
